Pachyrrhynchus spp.
I am particularly interested in this amazing genus and others in the same Curculionid tribe, which is zoogeographically centred on the island of Luzon in The Philippines. At least 600 species are known! They are distinguished by a very short rostrum and unusually thin elytra, and often have very colourful spotting or other patterns, some of which are highly irridescent or metallic. The arrangement of their markings is unique to each taxon and are some of the most amazingly beautiful markings of any beetle in the world. They are mainly found on vegetation in mountainous areas, where they can be shaken loose and fall. Some species are mimicked by several genera of Cerambycidae, primarilary the genus Doliops, Callimitopus and Euclea, and of which I am also very interested in obtaining additional specimens.
THIS LIST WILL BE UPDATED WHENEVER TIME PERMITS.
